Deepening Client Experience Through Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Hakomi Method – Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th, 2026, IN-PERSON at CityU, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

This workshop introduces the Hakomi Method, a Mindfulness-Centered, somatic approach to psychotherapy.

You will explore the Process Map of therapy, a model to deepen work with clients, through mindfulness, self-study and safety.

Through lecture, demo and practice exercises, this workshop will introduce you to:

  • Principles of the Hakomi Method;
  • Ways to promote mindfulness within ourselves and our clients.
  • A process to help clients gradually uncover and understand “limiting core beliefs” and the transformation and integration skills for effective change.
  • Skills of tracking for unconscious indications and contacting skills for deepening your work with clients.

Designed specifically for therapists, or students currently studying in the field of counselling or psychology, this workshop will give you the opportunity to:

  • Learn to integrate body-centered, mindfulness-based techniques into your practice
  • Gain hands-on experience and learn practical applications you can use in your work
  • Develop gentle yet powerful skills to help clients explore limiting beliefs related to developmental injury and attachment wounds.
