Kelley Mitchell, M.Ed., R. Psych., CHT

I am a Registered Psychologist (R. Psych.) and Certified Hakomi Therapist (CHT) who loves helping people discover their personal power. My focus is on supporting individuals in growing self-acceptance, compassion, and confidence, which ultimately leads to personal empowerment. Through a holistic psychology approach, I support clients in experimenting with creating the life they desire, one choice at a time.

Within a collaborative therapeutic relationship, I honour clients’ internal wisdom and creativity, which are central in guiding self-discovery, acceptance, and healing. We work as a team to help you transform behaviours, thoughts, and beliefs that limit you. I can help you learn how to set healthy boundaries, learn how to say no without feeling guilty, and learn how to speak up for yourself.

I integrate aspects of evidence-based cognitive approaches with body-centred, experiential, mindfulness-based approaches (i.e. Hakomi) to support you in cultivating self-awareness and increasing your personal empowerment. The healing power of this approach is consciousness; understanding the difference between the expanded self and self-limiting responses allows you freedom of choice.

I am committed to my clients’ safety, health, and wellbeing – psychologically, physically, and spiritually. As the impact of the coronavirus continues to evolve, taking effective action on my part means limiting in-person exposure to my clients and their families. As such, I will continue to provide counselling services via video or telephone from now until my maternity leave mid-June 2020.
